Dahlia is a company specializing in the production of cosmetic products, with roots dating back to 1924. Our company, established in Belgrade, with decades of experience has become one of the oldest factories in the cosmetics sector in the Balkans.

History of our company

The roots of the Dahlia company go back to 1924. “Engleska drogeria Union”, Dahlia’s predecessor, at that time was located in the very centre of Belgrade, at 33 Knez Mihajlova Street. This drugstore had a laboratory in which cosmetic products were produced, but it also sold the world’s most famous brands of colognes, perfumes, creams, and powders. It is interesting that “Union” also possessed the license of the English company Elizabeth Arden, the products of which were bottled and sold in Belgrade at that time.

At the beginning of the 1950s, by the decision of the state authorities, Gradska laboratorija (“City Laboratory”), as the drugstore Union was previously renamed, became part of the Balkan Chemical Industry. It soon singled out as a separate legal entity and continued its independent work at a new location in Dušanovac, under the name of Dahlia, where it was located until 1969.

From 1969 until today, Dahlia has been located in Zemun.
